CLASP – 24th June 2016

Caring, Listening and Supporting PartnershipAt singhealthychoirs we place a great emphasis on the social aspects of singing, and our weekly rehearsal sessions are as much about fun, laughter and making new friends as they are about learning the songs and finding harmony in joining to sing together.  Our Friday morning group which meets at 10.30am in the Rose Room at the Bradbury Centre in Wokingham have been working for the past few weeks with members of CLASP (Caring, Listening and Supporting Partnership) – a group of adults with learning difficulties – who also meet at the Bradbury Centre.  On Friday 24th June we will showcase the results of this collaboration with two short performances taking place from 10.45am/11.00am at the Bradbury Centre and again from 11.45am/12.00noon at The Council Offices in Shute End, Wokingham.  The theme of the piece is friendship, inclusivity and the uniting effect of song – linking in with Learning Disability Awareness Week: a national campaign organised through MENCAP with events throughout the country.

This year’s theme is about friendships and relationships – we want everyone to make a new friend this Learning Disability Week (20-26 June)So please come along to support us, to see and hear what can be achieved through the social bond of communal singing, and to find out more about our singhealthychoir groups and the important role of CLASP in the local community.
